The Leggett Valley School Veteran's Day Assembly will be on November 8th at 2:30 in the Leggett School Gymnasium. All community members are welcome to come and honor our veterans. If you are a local veteran who would like to attend and be honored, please contact us at 707-925-6285.
Leggett Valley School's Scholastic Book Fair is OPEN for business. The schedule is attached here. All community members are welcome to come in from 3-4 to shop and buy books for students. Thanks to generous community donations, there will be funds to let each child get one book. Thank you so much to everyone who donated!
The Leggett Scholastic Book Fair will be open on Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Friday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in the Family Resource Center. Students will visit the book fair by appointment with their class. If families and community members would like to come in and visit the fair with (or without) their students, there is time scheduled for that between 3:15 and 4:15 Tuesday-Thursday. If your student would like to leave books with their name on them for you to buy during family purchasing hours, they may do so when they visit with their class. A schedule of class visiting hours is attached below.
In past years we have had funding from scholastic to make sure that every student gets a book. Because our sales have been low the past couple of years, we do not have that funding any longer. If any community members can donate to a fund to make sure that every child gets a book, please contact the school or come in to the district office to make your donation. We don't want any of our kiddos to go without a great new book this year! Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you at the book fair!

Leggett High School Dual Credit Program Fall College Trip. Our destination will be Santa Barbara, where we will visit UCSB, Santa Barbara City College and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as well as Santa Barbara City Fire. We also have tickets to see Carmen at the San Luis Obispo Opera! Fun times ahead October 19-22.

All Leggett Valley students (k-12) will participate in a fun fall field trip on Friday, October 25th. Students will leave first thing in the morning and be transported by bus to Willits, where they will ride the skunk train Pumpkin Express to a pumpkin patch. The Leggett Leadership Class is happy to present a "Snake Safety Program" presented by "Save the Snakes" for K-12 students. This will be an all student activity, in the gym on October 11th at 2:00 pm. The program "offers guidance on how to identify California snakes, general snake biology, why snakes are important to the environment, snake safety tips, snakebite first aid, and how to deter snakes from your property. " Live snakes will be present, but there will be no live venemous snakes included in the presentation.
Leggett High School is looking to expand Career Technical Opportunities for our students. We are currently building pathways in Culinary and Fire Science, but we would like to build a Construction and Wood Working Pathway. If you are a local professional with three years or more of professional experience in the construction industry, you might qualify to become a credentialed CTE instructor.
