Good morning Leggett Families. This is just a reminder that our Touch a Truck and Health and Resource Fair is this Thursday, May 14th from 12-4. There will also be a free BBQ lunch available to all community members from 12-1. Come on down and see all of the wonderful things our community has to offer.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you about a recent incident of head lice exposure within your child’s classroom.
It has come to our attention that students have been diagnosed with head lice. While head lice are not a health hazard and do not transmit diseases, they can be a nuisance and cause discomfort for those affected. Head lice infestations are a common occurrence in schools and communities worldwide, and they do not discriminate based on hygiene or cleanliness. They are typically spread through direct head-to-head contact with an infected individual. While discovering head lice can be unsettling, it's essential to approach the situation calmly and with a focus on effective management and prevention.
We are committed to maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of the individuals affected by head lice. We are informing you of this incident to encourage vigilance for any signs of head lice, such as itching or irritation of the scalp.
While it's challenging to entirely prevent head lice, there are steps we can take to reduce the risk of infestation. Encourage your child to avoid head-to-head contact with others, not to share hats, hairbrushes, or other personal items, and to keep long hair tied back. If you suspect that your child has head lice, please seek appropriate treatment promptly. Over-the-counter and prescription treatments are available, and it's essential to follow the instructions carefully to ensure effectiveness.
Please feel free to call with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Hillary Magarrell
