We have a few exciting things to talk about at our meeting on Monday, September 25 at 4:30.

Leggett Valley School has a lot of facility needs and we are soon embarking on a major facilities upgrade process.  Knowing that school facility upgrades in other places often transform schools into looking less like traditional schoolhouses, I want to start collecting input from our parents and community members about how we can make major upgrades while preserving the Leggett School identity.  I am looking forward to hearing from you and see who may be interested in becoming more involved in these projects.

Secondly, we are planning a Harvest Potluck event on Friday, October 20 with the idea that, in addition to fun activities for students, families will make dishes and provide individual samples of their meals (similar to Costco samples).  We can have order forms for families to order dinners from each other (maybe make a little money).  It would also be awesome to collect recipes and make a Leggett Valley School family recipe book as a fundraiser.  We are hoping to have some parents who can take on tasks for this event.

What other creative fundraising ideas do you have?  How about a karaoke night?  The Italian Club and ASB does a lot of fundraising and getting parents involved to help would be so helpful!

Join us on Monday, September 25 at 4:30 for the School Site Council meeting in the library at Leggett Valley School and get more involved in our school!
